Common Sense Leadership
Putting People First and Delivering Real Results
For the past two years, I have had the honor of serving as a Town Councilman in Holly Ridge, where I have focused on being accessible, practical, and results driven. I believe local government works best when leaders listen, show up, and follow through, and that approach has guided my work on issues that matter to families, homeowners, and a growing community. During my time on council, I helped push for the Fire Medic Program to strengthen emergency response and better support EMS services, spearheaded municipal park redesigns and ongoing upgrades to improve quality of life, and advocated for transparency and open lines of communication by supporting the live streaming of public meetings. I have also worked to ensure fiscal responsibility by opposing tax increases simply because property values rise, protecting residents from unnecessary financial burden while prioritizing real community needs over wants.
Alongside serving in elected office, I have spent more than twenty years working in education and have earned master’s degrees in history and education. That background has given me a strong understanding of how policy decisions affect people in real, everyday ways and has helped shape how I approach problem solving, budgeting, and long-term planning. While education is an important part of my experience, my focus has always been on applying that knowledge to serve the community effectively.
I have been married to my wife, Nicole, for eighteen years, and together we are raising eight wonderful children. Being a husband and father keeps me grounded and reminds me why strong communities, fiscal responsibility, and transparent government matter. Long before holding office, I was actively involved as a community advocate, volunteering with nonprofit organizations, church groups, and local efforts aimed at supporting neighbors and improving quality of life.
My decision to serve in local government came from a belief that leadership should be about action and accountability. As a councilman, I have worked to push for responsible spending, open communication, and programs that strengthen our town. That same mindset is what I will bring to the North Carolina State House, representing our district with integrity, common sense, and a commitment to putting people first.

My family and I truly love this area and the sense of community it offers. We enjoy the many local events, activities, and opportunities to spend time together and with neighbors. Those experiences are a constant reminder of what makes this place special and why strong communities and thoughtful leadership matter.
